Everyone’s favorite web-crawler swings back this week in a new adventure. The Amazing Spider-Man is out this week and it’s set to tie in with the upcoming movie. It isn’t set during the film; the game is set after the film. The game features a nice cast of classic villains. Spec Ops: The Line will have you playing as U.S. Army Captain Martin Walker. You and your elite Delta Force team must help U.S. Army Colonel John Konrad who is in Dubai. It is a squad-based third-person shooter. You’ll face off against plenty of enemies and even some crazy sandstorms. This week also sees the release of Dead Island: Game of the Year Edition. It bundles the game and all Three DLC packs. Two are story additions, and the third is The Ripper Weapon Blueprint.

On the digital side there’s the Dawnguard DLC for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. It’s hitting the Xbox 360 first; it will become available on other platforms at a later time. When you start playing you’ll have to choose between two factions. One likes the taste of blood, the other hunts those who enjoy blood. There are also new armors, perks, weapons, and locations. Battlefield 3 gamers finally get the new Close Quarters DLC. It costs $15. It gives access to ten new weapons, maps, ten new assignments, new game modes, and DogTags.

There are still plenty of other game choices for you to decide on. Check below for the full list of new video games.

Details on the pre-order bonuses for the upcoming The Amazing Spider-Man game are out. Both are sure to be a treat but one promises a delightful surprise.

Those who opt to pre-order their copy from GameStop will receive The RHINO Challenge, a timed event where in players will be able to mow down any and everything that gets in their way. The goal is to build long combo chains and to break as many things as possible.

Those who prefer to pre-order from Amazon receive the Play as Stan Lee for the First Time Ever pack. Players will assume the role of the Amazing Stan-Man as he borrows some powers from your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man to recover lost pages from his latest script, which have been scattered all over the city. Upon completion of the mission, players are treated to a very special surprise. A surprise related to the wall crawlers 50th anniversary.

Well there you have it, folks. Either charge through the city as an unstoppable man in a rhino suit or chase down papers as an 88 year-old man. Personally, I am heartbroken at the timing of Stan Lee becoming playable so late in his career. I would have loved nothing more than leveling a city as a wrinkly green Hulk in The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction but hey better late than never.

Look for The Amazing Spider-Man in stores June 26 for North America and June 29 in Europe on PS3, Xbox 360, DS, 3DS and Wii

Too many awesome trailers coming from the VGAs! We here at 8-bit Playground are very excited for these games coming next year or the year after.

Our personal favorite video is The Last Of US – We are completely shocked on how well this trailer was put together, showing a different, serious take on the zombie apocalypse then just a beat-em-up blood bath. We can’t wait to see what Naughty Dog will do with this new IP.

Our least favorite trailer is Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance – from Platinum Games, don’t get us wrong we love Bayonetta but after a few more views of the trailer we are not entirely convince just yet.
