Sony is set and ready to reveal the PS4 design at their E3 press conference on June 10, 2013.
It’s been a long wait since their early announcement back in February and today Sony just released a little tease that gives us a small look at the PS4 design.
This exciting episode of The 8-bit Playground Show is fueled by all the PlayStation 4 news from Sony’s press conference. Sony is ready to reveal many things during this live event. Below is the live stream of the event where Sony might unveil their next home console, PlayStation 4. Gaikai could also get the spotlight and may be integrated. We might also see a few next generation games, or a description of the next controller, plenty of questions will be answered. Sony is set to unveil something very exciting on February 20, 2013. The event will take place in New York and will begin at 6:00 p.m, Eastern time. According to Kotaku the media event will be live-streamed, so start marking your calendars and make sure you’re free.
Many rumblings point to a potential announcement of the next PlayStation which at the moment is code-named “Orbis.” Just last week SuperDaE shared the official Orbis documentation files to Kotaku detailing specs and a new controller featuring biometric technology.

Starting January 8, PS Plus subscribers will get their hands on the God of War: Ascension multiplayer beta.
For those that were the winning Spartan team that took part of the Rise of the Warrior experience have access to the beta right now. As for Trojans, they get access until December 16th for more info head on over to the PlayStation blog.
Sony has notified its users that the PlayStation Network is going under maintenance today from 8AM to 4PM Pacific Time (11AM to 7PM Eastern).
“If you’ve signed onto PSN over the past few days, you’ll still be able to play online and access apps during this period, but you may receive a maintenance notification when attempting to access the PlayStation Store, PlayStation Home, and Account Management as these services will be unavailable. Be sure to sign in now if you wish to access the Network during this maintenance window.

A new Sony patent has been filled detailing a new type of controller that hybrids the DuelShock with the PS Move.
A method for interfacing with an interactive video game, comprising: establishing communication between a console and a controller, the controller defined by a first portion and a second portion; detecting a change in a configuration of the controller, the change in configuration defined by a change from a coupled configuration, wherein the first portion and second portion are coupled together, to a decoupled configuration, wherein the first portion and second portion are decoupled from each other; in response to the detected change in configuration, activating independent tracking of a location of the first portion and a location of the second portion.

One of the biggest names associated with Sony and PlayStation brand is taking a break from some of his duties. It’s been announced that Kazuo Hirai will relinquish is Sony Computer Entertainment duties. He won’t be leaving Sony completely though, he will remain as President and CEO of Sony Corp. And just because Kaz is leaving doesn’t mean he’s completely done with SCE, he will remain as a part-time board member.
Kaz has been at Sony for many years now. His presence in the company has helped shape the Sony and PlayStation brand into a recognizable and reliable one throughout all these years. Especially for the PlayStation brand, since he was present during the early days of the original PlayStation console, and then later during the launch of PlayStation 2.
