Nintendo has unveiled a new Nintendo 3DS model that will be coming to North America on August 19th. The price for new handheld will be $199.99 dollars. Not a bad price for a handled that features a 4.88-inch top 3D screen and a 4.18-inch bottom screen. It will also feature some new cosmetic changes. Most noticeable are the button differences. They look very different in the new 3DS XL model.
Another change is the SD card size. The 3DS XL features a 4GB SD Card, a slight bump from the 2GB SD card that comes packed in current 3DS consoles. One big early on piece of news was that the system wouldn’t include an AC Adapter, but it is being said that the U.S. version will pack one in, that’s a relieve. Because, pricing for the AC Adapter seemed to hint at a $20 price.
Anyone hoping to pick this new system up on launch day will have the choice of either a blue or red version. Both versions do look nice. One big addition that was not present was the addition of a second pad. Many gamers were really hoping to get it when the redesign came, but it is not present at all. So, this might mean that we could see the Circle Pad Pro v2.0 coming. Hopefully Nintendo clarifies on that. For now check out the screens of the new handheld below.
