Xenoblade is a bold and ambitious RPG by Monolith Soft, the studio who brought us the Xenosaga and Baten Kaitos series’. Released in June of 2010, Xenoblade garnered great reviews and enjoyed great sales. Even placing number one in its debut week.
When The Last Story by Mistwalker studios in 2010, it was met with excitement throughout the industry. Famed and respected developer, Hironobu Sakaguchi collaborated with Nintendo to delivery a new form of RPG. Due to a translation error on his blog, it was thought Sakaguchi would retire after completion. The charismatic developer was simply stating that he would be working on the title as if it were his last. When released in Japan early this year, Famitsu scored it a 38/40. Battles included a new level of action and strategy involving flanking, distractions, and a cover system ala Gears of War for advanced tactics.
Pandora’s Tower is an action RPG by Ganbarion. The title uses some play on greek mythology and places two character in the titular tower seeking to remove a curse on one of them by obtaining the flesh of the monsters that dwell within.
What do these three titles have in common? All three are critically acclaimed and commercially successful Wii games in Japan and none are coming to North America as of yet. Fans have had interest in these games for some time and yet it seems their cries have fallen on deaf ears. So a few gamers have banded together to star a letter campaign to Reggie Fils-Amie. Originally starting in the IGN boards, it has now grown into a movement and now you too can join the cause. Usually gamers have a lax attitude about localizing big Japanese games, but it’s nice to see our brethren being proactive. Details below. If you decide to join the cause please keep all letters respectful.

Dear Reggie,
As a fan of your company and of RPGs, I was extremely excited about the reveal of Monado which was later retitled Xenoblade. After it’s reveal at E3 2008 it quickly became one of my most anticipated games for the Wii, and as more information, screens, and trailers were released my interest only expanded. I am deeply concerned that this game has no North American release planned, especially considering the sparse lineup on the wii in the next year. I have been a Loyal fan of this company for over 25 years, and yet there hasn’t been a game worth getting on your console for nearly 8 months… and nothing on the horizon to be excited about besides Zelda, and yet Xenoblade sits completed, and soon to be localized for Europe in English. Please consider your company’s fans, please bring Xenoblade to us.
Sincerely,
(your name here – signed)

Dear Reggie,
As a fan of your company and of games like Castlevania, I was extremely excited about the reveal of Pandora’s Tower. From the initial cryptic reveal, to the delightfully twisted plot details that followed, I have been craving this game all year.
