Valve Preferes the Wii U

During New York’s Games for Change Festival Joystiq was able to get a interview from Gabe Newell, founder and president of Valve. Newell discussed Valve having interest in the upcoming Nintendo console.

“Wii U seems to be a lot more powerful than the previous generation,”

“It sort of fits better into the scalability in terms of graphics performance and CPU performance, so I think it’ll be a lot easier for us to fit it into our scalability model.”

Kinect Adds Ads

Microsoft shows off NUads, which will be used for interactive advertisement within the Xbox dashboard.  It’s a disturbing day to think we will see even more ads within our gaming experience.   The technology was demonstrated by Enrique de la Garza on Microsoft’s Advertising Blog.

What was showcased was little ways to get you to interact with Ads with the use of Kinect.  You will be able to Tweet about the ad, request more information about any product being shown, be able to locate a retailer near you which would carry the item shown, schedule a reminder for a upcoming event, and vote for your favorite. These options will all be available within the ad by just speaking that magic word “Xbox” and different options will be displayed to you.

Zelda Adventure

Zelda Adventure is a Genius Minecraft Mod

Two absolute geniuses that go by the names of Gary520 and Spirale, created one of the best Minecraft mods I’ve ever seen. He recreated key locations and items from The Legend of Zelda games and also added a full on quest for players to experience.  With a good six hours of game-play and a total of five dungeons available now for download, its pretty hard to pass up.  Keep in mind that this amazing mod is still in progress and the developers intend to add in a total of ten hours of game-play and eight dungeons in the finish product.
